Shocking friends and family, Afi parted ways with the music industry from 2011 to late 2013 to rediscover herself and rebuild a life for her children.
Now back in the studio after her 24 month hiatus from the industry, Afi Soul is recording her highly anticipated forthcoming project. With the release of her first single, it is without a doubt her return is packaged with a brave perspective on life, love and relationships. Afi Soul is more empowered than ever before. I’m Gone Shine invites fans to witness the beginning of her resilient journey…
JSWISS - The next generation to follow lyricists and storytellers such as Rakim, Big Daddy Kane and Nas; that’s where JSWISS falls. Soulive, The Brand New Heavies, Lettuce and The Roots were also early influences on JSWISS, instilling in him an affinity for strong instrumentation. If you’re a fan of Talib Kweli or A Tribe Called Quest, you’ll also dig JSWISS. As a young college graduate with a journalism degree from UNC-Chapel Hill, this native New Yorker has the energy, intelligence, and way with words to command respect on the mic.
JSWISS has rocked a packed Apollo Theater during its 80th anniversary celebrations and shared the stage with acts ranging from Big K.R.I.T. and Soul Khan, to 2 Chainz and Asher Roth, to renowned jazz keyboardist Nick Rolfe. He’s also collaborated with artists such as Kooley High, Grammy award-winning singer Maya Azucena and the Brown Bag AllStars.
Chantae Cann - Chantae Cann’s voice is the perfect combination of a warm Spring day, the fragrance just before it rains, and a sunset so breathtaking you can’t seem to capture it just right on camera. Her vocal delivery is soothing, sultry and more than just soulful, it’s soul fulfilling. Whether you find yourself listening to her live at a show or turning her up in your headphones, chances are you will have peace in your mind and a smile on your face. Chantae’s music blends the exploratory sounds of JAZZ with the feel good vibes of SOUL which makes for a mixture that is quite delicious. It is her heart’s desire to simply inspire, uplift and encourage the lives of others through music.
Sam Smith - British Singer/Songwriter Sam Smith rose to fame in October 2012 when he was featured on Disclosure's breakthrough single "Latch", which peaked at number eleven on the UK chart. His subsequent feature—on Naughty Boy's "La La La"—earned him his first number-one single on the chart in May 2013.In December 2013, Smith was nominated for the 2014 BRIT Critics' Choice Award and the BBC's Sound of 2014 poll; both of which he went on to win.He released his debut studio album, "In the Lonely Hour", in May 2014.
