Artists to check for...

Live Tropical Fish  - You may not be familiar with the names Fabrizio "Doc Bix" Poli, Antonio "Lurpak" Fern, Salvo Pignanelli, Adriano Pancaldi, Mirco Zagnoli and Pino De Fazio, but together they make up the band Live Tropical Fish.  Back in 1991, a young Fabrizio Poli met Antonio Ferne in university, and together they founded Live Tropical Fish. Their debut album Shape Your Life was released on IRMA records in 1997 to lots of interest in Europe, and on the back of this the band toured Europe , amassing a loyal fanbase.  Their success reached its pinnacle in 1998 when they were chosen to be the opening act for Earth Wind and Fire in Switzerland. That very night the group decided to take a step back, rest and refocus.  That break lasted two years, during which time the pair asked Salvo Pignanelli join the band.  Their music continued to be heard throughout this period, with many tracks being remixed or put onto any decent collection of acid jazz, funk or bossa nova compilations.  Refreshed and raring to go, Live Tropical Fish decided to take things to the next level by adding new members to really magnify their sound.   The Day Is Too Short To Be Selfish is the end result, and includes Adriano Pancaldi, Pino De Fazio and a return of Mirco Zagnoli welcome guest vocals by Alison Crockett, Deborah Jordan, Laurnea, Omar, Maya Azucena, Nick Rolfe and April Hill.

The musical experience on this album sets it apart from so much of the ready-made music being produced in any category out there today -- much of which appears to be simply copying whatever the industry has decided is in vogue.  This album is fresh and exciting, and a treat for fans of live instruments.

J*Davey - When merging hip-hop culture, electronic innovation, a soul/funk spirit and a punk attitude – you can often reference the magic that is J*DaVeY, a multi-talented duo out of Los Angeles, CA. Composed of vocalist/emcee Jack Davey and producer/writer Brook D’Leau, J*DaVeY has gradually captured the attention of an international cult following over the past ten years. Their progressive style and organ...ic chemistry being comparable to that of Missy Elliot and Timbaland; J*DaVeY is known to give you a “drug-induced” soundscape that takes you far beyond the confines of any particular genre.

After a recent separation from Warner Bros. Records, J*DaVeY has officially launched their self-built creative imprint ILLAV8R through http://theillav8r.com/ and have recently released their new cd New Designer Drug as well as re-launched jdaveybaby.com through this online platform.

Allen Stone- From backwoods barbecues and community gatherings; Allen Stone emerges to share personal melodies, telling his tales of life after just 24 years. Getting his start singing at his father's church in small-town America; it wasn't until later when introduced to the greats of soul music (Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin) and then to the confessional lyrical fashion of the 60's -70's singer/ songwriters, did music begin to ignite intense passion, eventually carrying this boy to a musical home.

On his self-titled sophomore album - an independent self-release which hit digital shelves October 4, Allen has pushed his sound and lyricism to a greater level of noted individuality. It touches upon a range of styles and themes. Integrating classic soul, catchy pop hooks, r&b beats and folk roots with lyrical matters of testimonial broken relationships, poisonous politics and the age-old topic of simple, pure celebration. Stone's music is notable for his finely crafted evocative songs and a fresh, smooth, soul-filled voice-one that certainly belies his age.

Hawthorne Headhunters- The quartet-turned-duo of Hawthorne Headhunters came together in 2007 when rapper-producer Black Spade (aka Stoney Rock) ventured from St. Louis to Southern California in search of inspiration. While there, he formed the psych-soul outfit with producers Ced No (aka I, Ced), Proh Mic and singer Coultrain, whose sometimes-wobbly vocals are a great complement to their equally bouncy production style.

In the ensuing years, which included the release of eponymous EP, Proh Mic and I,Ced left the group to focus on solo endeavors.

The Hawthorne Headhunters are at the crossroads of funk, soul, jazz and hip-hop from players already years deep in the game. The music spans these genres seamlessly blurring the lines between the Southern-influenced tastes of singer/rapper/producer Black Spade and singer/songwriter Coultrain.

Their most recent EP is Myriad of Now.

Gloria RY'Ann-Not since Minnie Riperton has there been a more enchanting songstress with a glass-shattering high octave vocal-range. This show-stopping beauty Gloria Ry’ann is riding on the success of her current single releases “O.M.G.” and “Back With You”.  Gloria is the treasured find for today’s music lovers.  Entertaining crowds large and small across the country, Gloria has performed with the likes of pop princess Rihanna, Oscar-winner, Jennifer Hudson, legends Ashford & Simpson, Patti Labelle and the late Teddy Pendergrass.

After taking the time to refocus on her own solo career Gloria has given her fans what they've been looking for recently releasing her debut EP Just Glow
