Artists to check for...
Kelli Sae - Internationally acclaimed vocalist Kelli Sae is not new to the limelight. And, she’s not blinded by it, either. As the former lead vocalist for global jazz/funk collectives, Incognito, Count Basic and Defunkt, she has seen the world, worked with world class musicians and learned that at the end of the day, all you have is you. “People’s egos are so huge,” she says, frankly. Her new CD Pure is not her first solo effort, but it is her very best. She wrote, arranged and produced every song along with A-list musicians of her own choosing. Without industry interference, she made an album that peels away the layers of her intricate soul. The music and lyrics of Pure are honest and frank. These are songs that point fingers and name names. These songs are the light at the end of the tunnel. Ty Causey - Mellifluous, enticing, passionate and dexterous - these are superlatives most certainly appropriate for defining the style and sound of acclaimed singer/songwriter/producer, TY CAUSEY. Talented, prolific, and genuine are best in describing who he is. All combined the result unveils an artist that harkens back to the storied crooners of the past, but with a present day sheen that boasts a collage of soul, jazz and R&B. His brand of sensual soul and smooth R&B is winning over a growing number of fans and industry insiders alike on the strength of his acclaimed CDs and live performances causing many to place him amongst the elite vocalists on the scene today. He's just released his newest CD False Faces Sy Smith- Sy Smith has long since solidified her place in underground soul music. The Los Angeles Based singer/songwriter/producer helped cultivate the nu-soul scene in that city more than 10 years ago., a scene which now easily boasts some of the most progressive artists of that genre to date, some who came directly from Sy's own band line-ups. Never one to rest on her laurels, Sy has continued to take her sound and her songs to new heights. With 3 albums, 2 EP's, 1 Greatest Hits Collection and a live DVD already under her belt, Sy has just released her fourth studio project, Fast & Curious, in February 2012. Together with acclaimed jazz musician, electronic remixer and DJ Mark de Clive-Lowe, Sy has created a brilliantly executed project with a soul that transcends its electronic foundation. Sy has once again created her own lane for others to follow. K'Jon - He will forever be linked to many people for his hit song, "On The Ocean", which gave him a #1 song on the radio for six weeks straight. Amazingly, his last album "I Get Around" also debuted at #1 on the Hip Hop/R&B album charts and later made Billboards Top 50 R&B/Hip Hop Album of 2009! K'Jon is back and This Time around will do it with his own label (Up&Up Records) and indie power house Shanachie Records. The brand new album entitled Moving On is much anticipated after a seemingly "out of nowhere" success story by K'Jon. But it didn't happen overnight for the CEO & producer who is also responsible for writing all of the songs he's ever published. With two independent album releases (This Is Me 2006 and the #1 independent album The Ballroom Xplosion 2007), three mix tapes (Yes Sir 2005, The Making of A Hoodlum 2008 and The Detroit Connect 2010) all released under his Up&Up Records label, a feature on the 2Fast & 2Furious Movie/Soundtrack (Miami 2004) and a national release ("I Get Around" 2009), the stage is set to see if K'Jon can woo his fans again! Ironically he proposed this question on his first single off the new album, "Will You Be There?" So the question is "Will You Be There" to support quality music from K'Jon? Temika Moore - Temika Moore is regarded by many as a vocal virtuoso sharing the title with powerhouses Rachelle Ferrell, Ledisi, Maysa, Lizz Wright, Carol Riddick and Lalah Hathaway. Considered under-the-radar of mainstream celebrity culture, those that have discovered Temika’s body of work consider themselves to be among an exclusive group of music aficionados. She has shared the stage with Will Downing, Roy Ayers, Marcus Johnson and the late Stanley Turrentine. She has also opened for KEM, Ledisi, Dwele, Conya Doss, Cassandra Wilson, Najee, Pieces of a Dream, Melba Moore and Jean Carne. If any of these illuminated artists are one of your desert island picks, make room for Temika Moore. Temika's newest CD,The End Of Me, is the first installment of a collection of songs chronicling her journey to find and understand love - God's love. You should listen and see where the journey leads. SG Tech Group: Where Business & Technology Meet
