Artists to check for...
The Rebirth - The word timeless best describes the sound of The Rebirth. While other artists are focused on recreating the latest trends, The Rebirth uses its seven-member fusion to keep the quintessential soul band experience center stage, while evolving the genre of soul music towards the future. The Rebirth has toured the UK, Ireland and other European countries; they have played many festivals, including the SouthPort Weekender, Big Chill, South Africa’s Cape Town Jazz Festival, The Blue Note tours in Japan, and The Culture Collide Festival. Now, along with the release of “Being Thru the Eyes of Child,” The Rebirth is gearing up once again to show and prove that soul music is still alive and that a passionate audience is out there searching for it.
Brandon Williams - Detroit bred Brandon 'B.' Williams’ life has always included music in some capacity, first as a listener, then as a musician, and ultimately as a producer. He is a musical architect that is quickly making his name and stake as a front-runner in the music industry. As a producer, he has lent his hand to such artists as; Janet Jackson, Pharoahe Monch, Bobby Creekwater, Vickie Winans, Jadakiss, Lin Rountree, Anita Baker, Jay Electronica, Jeymes Samuel, Ryan Leslie, and Amp Fiddler. In 2011 his music was featured in the AT&T “Swag/FLY ERRR” commercial. As an artist B. has performed and toured alongside some of the industry's finest including; Talib Kweli, Morris Day and The Time, Kevin Toney, Kim Burrell, Mike Phillips, Robert Glasper, Derrick Hodge, The Isley Brothers, Johnny O'Neal, George Duke, The Last Poets, Musiq Soulchild, Geno Young, Jaguar Wright, Kelis, Gene Dunlap, Sy Smith, Zo!, Joe Sample, Norman Brown, Wyclef, Raheem DeVaughn, Martha Reeves and Jonathan Butler just to name a few. His debut CD is XII. A collection of 17 tracks featuring a number of fantastic guest artists.
Mad Satta - Mad Satta is a future-soul band based in New York comprised of eight members who strive to bring original, positive, eclectic, thoughtful music to a wide array of listeners. This ultra-tight, eight-piece outfit is held down by edgy bass lines and a sophisticated mix of guitar, organ, drums and horns that surround and support the powerful, smoky vocals of front woman Joanna Teters. From Yoshi's (Oakland, CA) to the Blue Note (NYC), Mad Satta serves it's audiences with playful, energetic performances of original compositions and unique covers that honor some of the greats, such as Curtis Mayfield and Amy Winehouse. Their debut album "Comfort", produced by triple Grammy-winner Prince Charles Alexander, was released on October 14, 2014
Hiatus Kaiyote - Grammy nominated Melbourne contemporary soul outfit, Hiatus Kaiyote is a collaboration between four individuals (Nai Palm/singer-guitarist, Paul Bender/bass-production, Simon Mavin/keys-synths, Perrin Moss/drums-production). Their sound references a swathe of influences - electric, acoustic, futuristic, psychedelic, progressive, soothing and urgent - slipping in and out genre and defying definition.
Jully Black - A force to be reckoned with, this Canadian-born, triple threat (singer/songwriter/performer) loves to share her talents and has an enthusiasm for music that is unparalleled. Her charming attitude and charismatic personality has helped propel her career to reach milestones that most artists struggle to achieve in a lifetime - winning multiple Juno awards, penning songs for the likes of Nas and Destiny’s Child as well as performing along side artists such as Elton John, Etta James, Jay-Z, Sean Paul, and Alicia Keys to name a few. There is no question as to how she has achieved the status of “Canada’s Queen of R&B”, a title given to her by her fans and peers. Her fourth highly anticipated album, entitled “Made In Canada ” has been described as “The New Motown Sound”. The songs that reside on this album span the music genre spectrum, incorporating elements of Soul, R&B and Pop.
