Artists to check for...
KJ - Meet The R&B prodigy known as 'KJ' . KJ has high expectations for himself and the music that he creates. KJ is a gifted vocalist and songwriter who has been singing for over two-thirds of his life. The adolescent crooner possesses natural vocal ability, genuine charm, and unyielding passion for artistic expression. His performances have proven to be hypnotic and infectious. He constantly and consistently increases his fan base with the unique tone that resonates from his vocal instrument. Once you hear one song from KJ, you'll be able to identify his special voice on any song from that point on. His music is current day, vocally driven, vibrant, R&B infused with the emotions, quality, and purity of R&B of the past. This makes KJ key to the future of music.
Check out KJ's single "Wanna Do (Caught In The Matrix)" featuring Rich Cole available now on ITUNES , Amazon.com and anywhere digital music is sold including the Music & More Store here on RhythmAndSoulRadio.com.
Ida Divine - A native of Staten Island, NY, LaQuana Thompson, aka Ida Divine, grew up watching mob movies with her father and hanging out with one of her best friends who is the sister of one of the members of the Wu Tang Clan. With Hip Hop as her baby sitter; rapping, singing, and creating lyrics was as natural as hopscotch and jacks.
Ida Divine-ly rejuvenates hip hop in its purest form. She creates mini selves within her many worlds formed by her Di – verse melodies. The word she sings and raps about penetrates the heart of the listener unto the fullest degree. Her lyrical flow is sagacious sounding rhymes giving off advice for ordinary people to recognize. She is more than Hip Hop, more than R & B; she is the third “I” in divinity. She brings out the blues we go thru as a people; she sings definitions of contemplated female thoughts, and points out realistic truths of life experience. Ida Divine composes analogies through her songs like an artist who paints a picture that gives off subliminal messages.
The Floacist - Inspired by many lessons learnt and her own personal growth and journeying, The Floacist, has truly come into her own, finding her voice and manifesting into an all round artistic force. With the upcoming release of her latest CD "Rise of The Phoenix Mermaid" The Floacist continues to capture the hearts, minds and souls of audiences everywhere. Connecting with both word, and image…depth and sexiness…The Floacist is the complete package!
The Revelations - For The Revelations, their latest offering, "The Cost Of Living" (Decision/Sony RED), is a labor of love years in the making. Since they first came on the scene in 2008 with their Deep Soul EP(Decision), Brooklyn, NY’s The Revelations have represented a twenty-first-century take on classic soul—one which shows reverence for the masters, but with a uniquely modern sensibility—a sound The New York Times’ Jon Pereles calls “revivalism without poses or quotation marks”.
On "The Cost Of Living", Rell Gaddis assumes the lead vocal duties previously provided by Tre Williams. This is by no means Rell’s debut with The Revelations, however. Rell has been part of the group’s writing team from their onset, and performed with the band for years, even contributing lead vocals to “It’s Too Late” from their 2009 album The Bleeding Edge (Decision). Since being signed to Jay-Z’s Roc-a-fella Records back in 1997, Rell has had a prolific singing and writing career, creating his own records, as well as penning and lending vocals to songs featuring artists Usher (Rell wrote Usher's #1 RnB Hit "Here I Stand"), Jay-Z, Kanye West, Mary J Blige, and many more.
The Revelations’ engaging and energetic live performances continue to win over audiences from Brooklyn to the Mississippi Delta to California and beyond, creating fans such as A-listers B.B. King, Bobby Womack and Stevie Wonder in the process. This is new, true soul music with a sharp, modern edge.
Kersten Stevens - Violinist Kersten Stevens is a special artist,
songwriter and educator. Blessed with a talent for jazz, gospel and classical performance, Kersten is hailed by Bowed Radio as “a remarkable innovation of the classical gospel convention. Fun, Lively, Spirited, Incredible." She began studying and performing jazz, gospel and contemporary styles at age fourteen and has been the opening act for President Barack Obama, the legendary Ray Charles, appeared by request of Denzel Washington for the National Boys and Girls Clubs, appeared in 2005 as a featured soloist with Dionne Warwick and the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, performed with world-renowned jazz violinist Regina Carter, has studied with violinist
John Blake, Jr., and has twice taken Showtime at the Apollo by storm, winning competitions in 2003 and 1999!
Her new CD is called "Inspire Me" and once you listen you will certainly be inspired.
